Beyond Shadow: Heritage Institute Southern Africa is an independent heritage institute (not for profit organisation (NPO) that seeks to position heritage discipline from the periphery of South Africa’s knowledge systems to the core educational and public engagement platforms.  The Institute will endeavor to forge credible partnership agreements with a range of stakeholders including, but not limited, to education authorities, all three spheres of government, the private sector and civil society organizations to engender heritage studies and knowledge amongst the youth in particular and the public in general with regard to the centrality of heritage management in nation building and socio-economic development imperatives.
